  1. Gym Locker Padlocks

Today’s Gym Kit essential is the thing that will help secure your normal clothes, phone, wallet etc.

Your gym locker will be secured by one of the following:

    • Key in locker door, released by inserting a coin (usually £1) which you’ll get back
    • Key in locker door, released by inserting a coin (usually 20p) which you’ll never see again
    • Key given to you at reception
    • Some funky built-in keypad thing that lets you set your own lock code
    • A padlock that you’re expected to supply yourself.
Popular chains LA Fitness and Fitness First are amongst the gyms that opt for the latter. Sure, they’ll sell you a basic padlock, even maybe lend you one if you smile nicely. But a good padlock will make your gym experience that bit happier.
We like the Master Lock 1520EURD 59mm Resettable Combination Padlock because not only is there no key but you can set your own code. You’re not stuck with some default code that you’ll never remember.
Yep, that tip is more “keeping your stuff” than “keeping fit”, but it’s good to think of the practicals.
